The Building Systems &amp; Construction Group at Merchant &amp; Gould includes attorneys and technical advisors who have assisted clients in various areas of technology and innovation in this industry including: construction materials; windows, doors, and related hardware; interior finishes; electric fencing;&nbsp; building automation; telecommunications; security systems; electrical power; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning; plumbing; and fire and life safety systems, among others. We have drafted and prosecuted patent and trademark applications on topics such as voice and data systems, building automation systems, security systems, smoke detection, HVAC, dust collection, plumbing equipment, insulation, windows, finishes, and many other areas.&nbsp; We have also represented clients in contested matters involving industry manufacturers and have provided numerous legal opinions regarding patent validity and infringement issues.&nbsp; Our attorneys also have experience in providing counsel, advice and drafting experience on license agreements and joint development ventures. We make it a point to visit our clients’ facilities and spend time understanding the industry and business challenges they face. We attend industry conferences to make sure we are aware of the business strategies and developments that impact intellectual property planning. We assist our clients to be market leaders and on the cutting edge of the industry.
